Racks

Racks define the physical space where servers and switches are placed.
Create racks after the datacenter exists. Each rack belongs to one datacenter and can optionally be assigned to a floor, room and agent.
Open Infrastructure > Racks and use Create Rack.

Create rack

Select the Datacenter first. If floors and rooms are already configured, choose the correct floor and room so the rack appears in the right physical location.
Use Name for the label printed on the rack or used by the operations team. Set Size U to the real rack height, usually 42.
Assign an Agent when this rack should support inventory connections, PXE, provisioning or remote operations. Keep the rack ACTIVE unless it should not be used.

Agent state matters

Some rack actions are disabled until the assigned agent is online. If you have not installed the agent yet, create the rack first, then return and assign the agent after it becomes ONLINE.

Next step

Continue with Agents when the rack needs to run provisioning or remote operations.
