Datacenters

Datacenters are the top-level physical locations used to organise racks, agents, network ranges and inventory.
A datacenter represents one physical site. Create the datacenter before creating racks, agents, VLANs, subnets, servers or switches for that location.
Open Infrastructure > Datacenters and use Create Datacenter.

Create datacenter

Use Code for the short identifier operators will recognise in tables and filters. A code such as LIS-1 or AMS-2 is easier to scan than a long name.
Use Name for the readable location name. Select the country when it is useful for filtering, reporting or team handover.
Keep Status as ACTIVE for a site that should be used normally. Use notes for internal context that helps operators understand the site.

After creating it

Continue with Racks to create the first physical rack for this datacenter.
